The City of Fort Wright is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic.  This position will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to, fire prevention/suppression, emergency medical duties, rescue, report preparation, equipment maintenance, etc.  These individuals will report directly to the Fire/EMS Chief and/or his designee and must perform skilled responsibilities for a department that has approximately 1500 service calls per year.

The successful candidate should possess a high school diploma or equivalency; A Valid Driver’s License; Current National Registry Paramedic Certification or KY Paramedic Certification; ACLS, CPR, and PALS Certifications; KY 400 HR Certification or Firefighter I and II Certification; CPAT Card (KY Firefighter laterals are exempt).  All applicable certifications should be supplemented by proven responsible Fire Rescue/EMS work, or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.

This is a 24/48 hour shift rotation including a Kelly Day, that involves hazardous work in inclement weather conditions.

Starting Salary (DOQ) for each position is $56,244.62, plus 416 hours of regularly scheduled over-time and a $4,300 state hazardous duty incentive. Excellent benefit package provided, which currently includes the following:
