THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Research Technician 2 assists with conducting cloning, protein purification, and structural biology. This position will provide research support in various cell-based and molecular pharmacology assays leading to the discovery of new drugs and elucidation of their mechanisms of action.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs protein purification, cloning, and crystallography.
- Conducts molecular and cellular biology assays.
- Performs data analysis and summarizes the results of all experiments.
- Perform technical laboratory work including polymerase chain reaction, gel electrophoresis, and DNA/RNA isolation.
- Prepares buffers and experimental reagents.
- Provides general maintenance of laboratory bench areas and other workspaces.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Immunology, Cancer Cell Biology, or Science-related field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE:OR a combination of education, training, and experience to equal eight (8) years.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and experience in protein purification, cloning, and structural biology.
- Skilled in standard laboratory techniques.
- Ability to work independently and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
