Job Summary
Develops research projects and assists in grant writing, scientific design, study conduct and interpretation, abstract and manuscript writing, and submission, in collaboration with the Spine and Musculoskeletal and Spine faculty in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R).
Responsibilities
This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification. Essential Functions
-Background experience or knowledge of PM&R/Spine and Musculoskeletal care, or ability to quickly learn and become fluent in the field
-Manuscript reading, writing (co-authoring), editing, formatting and submission
-Basic statistical analysis
-Collaborate with the statistical analysis group
-Database management, query, analysis, including internal databases (REDCap, Datawarehouse)
-Work with other departments to help drive projects forward including – Utah All Payors Database, Utah Population Database, Veteran's Administration
-Perform literature reviews – summarization, distillation, citation of existing literature
-Citation management
-Write and submit grants
-Assist with continual search and secure of external funding sources
-Develop study protocol
-Regulatory Management, including IRB and Conflicts of Interest
-Collaborate with our financial research manager regarding funds/accounts/budgets
-Create research-oriented presentations and posters
-Manage and mentor the PM&R Spine and Musculoskeletal research enterprise/staff in collaboration with the research managers within the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
-Collaborate with multi-institutional research protocols, including writing and securing data-sharing agreements, etc.
-May see patients in the clinical setting.
Minimum Qualifications
Preferences
Master's degree or PhD in a scientific discipline or health-related field required.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
